“Mad about Art” Painting weekend at Wildwood Valley.

"MAD ABOUT ART" - Friday 14th to Sunday 16th June, 2024

I will be the artist in residence for the weekend commencing on the evening of Friday 14th June and running through to lunch time on Sunday the 16th June.

This workshop will be suitable for beginners as well as more experienced artists. I will be covering the basics of expressive drawing as well as demonstrating more advanced approaches to our subject matter. I will be using mainly watercolour but the fundamentals of this workshop can be applicable for all mediums.

TOPICS TO BE COVERED

1) Fundamentals of Drawing
2) Design and composition
3) Light and dark, tonal understanding
4) Reflected light
5) Embracing your mistakes
6) Juxtaposing opposites - the Yin and Yang of painting
7) Use of highlights
8) Making your own paint

Please bring whatever paints and paper or boards you are comfortable with using.

I will provide acid free cartridge paper and charcoal for drawing.

I will send out a materials list closer to the workshop
